Baking to benefit the community.
In the basement of All Saint's Episcopal, volunteers from the Brady Faith Center gather weekly early Friday morning to bake 100 loaves of bread. The six volunteers mix, knead and cook the bread for sale to local parishioners for $3.00 a loaf. The proceeds benefit several local ministries, including Pedals-to-Possibilities, Jail Ministries and the Brady Faith Center. Though their baking helps to benefit the community, the volunteers get more than a sense of "doing good," they get fellowship.
A Life of Skiing with Chris Lighthipe
The lessons from a father leads to lifelong passion
For this class assignment, our teacher tasked us with finding a story at the Toggenburg Winter Ski Center. There, I found Chris Lighthipe who began skiing when her father returned to the States after World War II. Now, she runs the learning center at Toggenburg and supervises its young instructors.
